Enveloppé de mythe, «Save Your Software» est l’album perdu depuis longtemps de Der Plan. Au milieu des années 1980, Moritz Reichelt, Kurt Dahlke (Pyrolator) et Frank Fenstermacher ont lancé le projet Fanuks dans le but de se rendre immortels comme Mensch-Maschinen ou Man-Machines. «Fanuks» produirait de la musique pour toute l’éternité, se lançant dans une tournée mondiale sans fin. L’éternité se révélerait finalement hors de leur portée en raison de divers obstacles techniques, mais il est juste de dire que Der Plan était toujours en avance sur son temps. À la fin de la décennie, les Fanuks, ou leurs alter ego humains respectifs, avaient fabriqué six pièces. Celles-ci n’ont été redécouvertes qu’en 2020 lors d’une inspection approfondie des archives d’Ata Tak/Der Plan. Reichelt, Dahlke et Fenstermacher ont augmenté leurs six chefs-d’œuvre visionnaires avec trois titres basés sur des compositions de 1989.
